Stoppies
OK , I see a wheelie thread. I've been doing those for years and as soon as I got the Hyper (I have a one a day rule) .
I have moved on to stoppies but not more than getting the rear tire up about a foot and back down as I come to complete stop. I would be interested in techniques on riding it a few feet to start and so on.
Thanks

Go faster, grab harder!
I'd suggest if you have a beater bike, try them on that one first. Two points to remember, keep your head and body straight or the ass end may swing arround on you. The bike will come down sideways and pound you into the pavement. Secondly, remain calm, don't freak out. Some people tend to freak on a rolling stoppie and end up flipping it. Modulate your height with your break lever. And make sure you have plenty of run-off room. Do not practice in your driveway!
Lastly, my favorite, burnout-wheelie-stoppie-repeat!

The only bike that I own that has good enough brakes is the hyper, (and I own 4 ) so much for a beater..

Yeah!
Dude Stoppies are the Sh**!!! I feel bad doing this on a 15k bike but hey it feels good right Two things to remember: #1 Mind set - If you get scared or freak just let the break go!!!! #2 start slow & safe. Find a good parking lot with plenty of room and great asphalt. Next go about 20 or so nice and straight then apply the brake hard. Repeat again and again with slightly increasingly more pressure. Remember - you get a little 'loose' & let the brake go! If you try this slowly you will get comfortable with the weight transfer. Tips: Pro - The further you lean forward (body weight) the more easily you can cause the stoppie. Con - if you forget to lean back once the bike tips forward you will endo! The cure is to lean back as you approach the balance point. Again remember to let the brake go if you get out of control. The closer you get to the balance point the easier it is to f-up. Start slow!!! Once you get comfortable with the motion you may find yourself being able to damn near touch your back to the seat! Start slow and work your way up to it. Good luck bro! Hey this helped impress my girlfriend a year ago - now were ingaged

For honing the skills you can't beat a trials bike.
If you can ride well slowly, then you can 'really' ride.

I got a ttr 50 with motard wheels that i stoppie on. Its gr8 cause its practically disposable, and i can do them back and forth in my driveway. i love busting them out at cookouts.
Just remember if u wanna roll em out u cant b affraid of a lil speed. and u can always let loose the brake if u get yammie.

Yea stoppies can be way more rewarding than a wheelie when you pull off a 50-100 plus footer!! I had serious issues even getting the rear to come up with out the front end sliding out on my HYM?? I just got EBC HH pads, Motul fluid, and Pilot power ct's so this front better grab! I am also going to play with the rebound and compression. I can do it fine on every bike I have own but this bike is heavy and the front brakes suck!! Cant wait to feel the difference
