Battleax 014

Hi, I'm shopping for a rear tire for one of my other bikes and I get free shipping if I buy 2 tires , so I was looking for a rear for the Hyper (already have a set of Michelin pure power 2ct for track days).
What I'm finding out is after trying 3 places they don't stock or sell a rear 014.My thinking is that my front should last thru 2 rears.
One site states that the 016 is a ultra high performance and the 021 is a replacement sport touring tire.
I would like to stick to the same name brand as the front.
Any thoughts ??????????????????????

I thought the 014 was discontinued and the 016 was its replacement.

I ran across this about 6 months ago shopping for one. The only places that had the 014 wanted ~$200 bucks for a rear alone. I upgraded to the 016 and don't regret it.

Both those tires are from Bridgestone and are of the same construction (internally). Where you run into problems on a streetbike (racebikes are different) is if the construction is different between the front and rear tires.

FWIW, back in the day, I ran a bias ply on the front of my '86 GXSR750 and a radial on the rear. Now THAT'S different construction. Needless to say I had a weave at speed as the rear tire was trying to roll faster than the front could in a straight line.

Those two Bridgestones should work fine for you and you will probably like the 016 better.

BT16 front and 21 rear is an awesome combo. Will even stand up to some light track time.
