Is this normal? (Oil Leak)
So just giving my bike the once over today (2000km on the odo) and noticed quite a bit of gunk on the clutch cover and followed it down to the the oil line.

It doesn't appear to be oil though, it wipes off like brake dust
Any ideas?

Mine does exactly the same thing.
It looks like a build up of road gunk, probably channelled there by the barrel fins and as it is a forward facing surface it tends to stick.
I've not worried about this and have had no trouble in 6000km.
Good as gold, mate!
P.S. Clean it off on a regular basis!

It may be from the bolts on the case cover. Pull them one at a time and add a little RVT gasket maker in the hole and on the thread and retorque them. I had it on the opposite side and that is what was causing the residue. Otherwise, retorque the oil line fittings.
Out!

NO oil leak is normal, check your oil cooler line couplings and tighten if needed, there are two small o rings in the oil lines coupler, it is possible that Luigi nicked these on the way in or he didn't tighten the bango to the block couplers.
Check also the casing bolts.

i spent nearly a whole day cleaning my eng casing for sale of the bike. i ad the same and managed to easily nip up the 2 oil line bolts 1/4 of a turn. also found my stand bolt half way out! I think it was oil vapor coming out of somewhere as it was different to the rest of the shit over the engine. btw, that bike is too clean!
