That can?
What is this can on the left side on the cylinder, on my hypermotard ? Looks like some sort of catch can maybe. Ive seen some pics of bikes with these removed. How does one go about removing this thing?

Carbon Canister, like Alex said, do a search. Many detailed instructions on its removal.

I heard/read that some people have some issues after removal of the "can"...stalling/low idle. Is this true?

It is well documented on this forum as a perfectly OK thing to do ... Mine is long gone on my new 796HYM and runs Purrrrfectly. .....even my dealer said "that box is the first thing to go"

Easy enough to put back on ..I think that would be a first tho...
Dealers usually have them fall off before delivery ...

The only thing that would make the motor run poorly would be not plugging the manifold ports properly after removing the hoses.I've always used automotive manifold plugs on my ducs with a tiny hose clamp or a bit of safety wire.

Ric is right. Just beware that all plugs are not created equal.

My Dealer took the canister away at the first 1.000km service.
I think it was detailed as a 10 minutes job, not charged.
