Cyliner bolt oil leak
Only 400 mi and an oil leak ? Have not had an oil leak since I sold my harley years ago!!!! Was looking forward to Daytona
Started as just a drop on the garage floor, now I can actually watch it bubble out around front right lower Cylinder bolt (Just above exhaust pipe). Does not look like a quick easy fix. Probably have to remove the cylinder.
Whats going on in there ? Can I ass u & me oil is run thru the heads for cooling purposes and there is a bad gasket ?? No smoke in exhaust.
Mine is 796 but Asssume( theres that word again) cylinder design same as 1100

Mine did that on the rear cylinder. My dealer said they had new gaskets for those bolts because the original ones leaked.

How much newer than my 2010 model can you get ??
Im going to ask the dealer to replace both head gaskets. I can see wet burnt oil around all the head retainer nuts/studs.

Update
Dealer cleaned up heads and has been running the bike with no visible leaks
The mechanics say they have seen this before and
attribute it to grease used in the factory on the studs
and bolts when torqing the heads. Usually very minimal
and not noticed but maybe the one stud had a
grease goober (my word) in it.
Time will tell.

Well it leaked both times I rode it after getting it back from the dealer
Rode it to dealer, parked it running and pointed to the stream of oil flowing and bubbling out from the front ,lower head stud.
Just got word they did tear it down and determine the head gasket is bad. suprise !!! NOT
Now all I have to do is wait for the parts to get here from ITALY
Late next week is the official estimate

Well how is it now?
Howdy there folks. I found this interesting to read as mine is doing the same thing. I have 7700mls on my 09s and its starting to look like a something to take seriously. How'd your situation turn out? Any buddy out there pull the heads off themselves?

Dealer had a long time as getting info and approval from Ducati is not often easy.
Dealer replaced and properly sealed Cyl stud to engine case.
Leaked from base of cyl, up around stud and worked around threads at head retainer nut.
Not bad gaskets, though they did use copper sealant on new gaskets as per Ducati instructions.
All good now
