Rearset Removal
Hey guys, new to Hypers but not the forum. I just traded my 2008 1098 for a clean 2008 Hypermotard (with some cash). Well the previous owner put Woodcraft rearsets and Rizoma passenger pegs on the bike. While they look great I actually want to put the stockers back on after I powdercoat them black. The idea is to sell the Woodcrafts and Rizomas to finance other parts for the bike. I understand the benefits of the aftermarket rearsets but the stockers will work fine for my riding style.
Looking at the rearset assembly it appear that the swingarm pivot bolt needs removed. What is the easy way to do this and what needs braced. Any help with be appreciated. Once the stockers come back from the powdercoater and I make the swap, I will post up the rearsets and passenger pegs for sale at a nice price.

Sorry but I do have the stock ones that came with the bike which will be powdercoated. As for the Woodcraft rearsets, they are in great condition with a little wear on the anodized black pegs. I will post some pics in the classified section when I get them swapped out. Revel, PM me with your offer for the rearsets as you will have first dibs.
I did look at the parts diagrams on Ducati Omaha's site and it appear the bolts that hold the rearsets to the lower frame do go into the axle and it should be a simple procedure by doing one side at a time. Let me know if any of you have any other suggestions.

Not to spoil anyone's hopes of buying Silver's Woodcrafts, but I would hold on
to them until _after_ trying out the stock pegs. The peg clearance is not
anything like on a narrow supermoto bike. I knew I was in trouble when I
dragged a peg riding the Hyper home from the dealer for the first time. It's
not just big lean angles that get you to touch down, but it also depends on
the uneveness of the road surface, paving crowns, etc. It's even worse for
guys with large feet, since you will be draggin' toes if not draggin' pegs.
If not rearsets, then some adjustable footpegs are a necessity for sport riding
this bike (unless you happen to like dragging pegs).
