How much labor should a dealer charge for a 14T install?
Just curious those of you who have had it done. What is a fair price or hr estimate for the 14T install? I don't have a garage or I'd likely attempt to do myself but for now I'm just hoping to get a fair price from the shop.
Also best place to buy the 14T?

IMO, no more than half hour. The sprocket cover has 2-3 bolts. The sprocket only 1. Chain may need adjustment.

1 hour at the most. Check if some of the forum sponsor have it or check with the dealer where you want to get it installed if they already have on in stock, won't hurt you in the long run if you go to the dealer for other things.

I asked my dealer to switch it out while I was getting a tire change. Since I bought the tire and sprocket from them, they only charged me the tire change labor. If the chain is already off, it should only take about one minute.

Hmmm, your dealer was just being nice... the chain doesn't get touched on a
rear tire change for single-sided swing arm bikes. Truly a quick-change design--
just remove the right side wheel nut and the wheel can be slid right off the axle.
Rear disc stays on the bike with the wheel off, too... no worries about someone
hitting the brake lever with the wheel off and having to push the pads back in.
How an "easy-to-service" design ended up on our bikes is a freak of nature.

Just looking at mine I'm pretty sure you have to remove the clutch slave cylinder/actuator because it's in the way of the cs sprocket sliding out with the chain around it. Maybe not if you already have a 14t on it, but my stock one looks that way. Definitely not a few minute job, but maybe not more than 30 if you have all the tools handy and have done it before.

They shouldn't charge you anything, because you should do it yourself. Its like 4 bolts TOTAL, and maybe twenty minutes of your life. While you're in there, get all that chainlube gunk off the inside of the engine case.

How about driving over the GWB and 15 minutes up the Palisades to Northern NJ and I will help you do it for free?
I do have a garage and my father was a TV repairman, he has an ultimate set of tools.
Seriously though, if you are interested, drive it over. (PM me for details)
But, if you want a good NYC dealership, it's hard to beat Ducati NYC. If you want to drive to LI, Gold Coast in New Hyde Park. Or, if you want to go a little upstate, Rockwell Cycles in Fort Montgomery is also recommendable.

Very generous offer...thank you CTarna. I'll shoot you a PM once I order the 14T and we'll see if we can find a convenient time to meet up.
Everyone - Thanks for the other info as well.
