Potential Hyper Owner - Fit for big guys?
Greetings gang - Newb here trying to gather info and learn about the Hypermotard. Curious about how you guys fit on these bikes? Are you a taller crowd, shorter crowd, thin or less thin ...etc?
They are pretty big bikes but then again they are not that big. I'm 6'3", big frame but currently dropping weight..working towards 250lbs. Not really portly, just a big dude. Longer in the legs.
I currently ride a C14, Tiger SE and ZRX. I really want to add a Duc to my stable and the Hyper is what speaks to me...
Based on my size and stauture...Is this a possibility or a pipe dream, in your opinion?
I'd love to have some comments. Any of you 6' plus guys have pictures of you on your tard so I can check out ergos, etc.
I haven't been able to find one locally to sit on, although I'm going outside of local area this weekend to check one out more closely.
Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I'm 6'2" and carrying a few extra pounds. I had a Hyper 1100s for a day as a courtesy bike when my 998 was being serviced and it was fine. I went through 2 tanks of gas over all kinds of road & was comfortable all day. I did notice a tendency for me to slide into the tank, but a grippier seat would sort that.
Get a test ride to be sure.

The standard seat is woeful. The racing (I think it is) seat does not do that to you.
I have seen big guys on a Hyper and they look awkward, dwarfing a small bike (if that's important anyway)

I didn't feel awkward, other than being so far forward on the bike compared to my 998. Mind you, I couldn't see myself whilst riding it! My mate has one & he's, erm, more padded, but a little shorter than me, and he looks OK on it. He had his seat re-shaped & re-covered by a local guy. It works well for him, and was a lot cheaper than a DP seat, or a corbin or sargent seat for that matter.
They're cracking bikes, superb fun!

Tarding
As a +6' guy, the Hyper feels small and I like the upright dirt bike riding position. The new EVO SP is 1" taller than the previous versions and that 1" has me jealous.
I can easily stand flat footed over the bike with room to spare and the leg bend to the pegs is tolerable for short stays. Thankfully, the tank insures tha you will have to get off soon.
I am hoping the adjustable aftermarket pegs I picked up will improve on the leg erogs and help with getting my foot under the shifter. Its a bit tight even with my size 11's.
Its an awesome ride and you should have some suitable roads in PA.

I'm 6'4" and weigh in around 225 in gear... I run the sargent seat and love it... thought about trying the dp gel seat but I have no issues... Size 13 feet have no problems on the controls in boots or hiking shoes, I did take some time to set levers and adjust before I rode...
I road race and have run supermoto/motard on the track...
Hyper is the ticket... Now that I have the 6.4 gallon tank it's a dream...
Thought my front end was sluggish til I put the correct psi in the bridgestones I have...
Always run 28 front and 29 rear at the track...
on the street 42psi all the way around...

Big guys on hypers
Greetings,
I came from the dirt side and at 6' and 235, the hyper feels great to me, I have the race seat and performance mods, but no other comfort mods.
Since the riding position is similar to the dirt bike attack position, I find it comfortable. My longest ride to date is about 400 miles.
It is not a gold wing, but I have never yet stopped to rest or stopped for fatigue. Quite the opposite, I ride and then look a the time and wonder where it went.
Finally, if I were your height, bar risers or a high bend bar might be a good mod.
Best regards,
Joe

this just might be the first time in my life I'm grateful for being 175lb and 5.10. most of the time its downright embarassing when chicks in heels are taller, and I have to aim for little piddly midgets so I can carry them around the room during fun-time. But maybe, just maybe, when it comes to motorcycles I don't mind my height. sorry for the threadjacking... just had to chime in. back to bigman talk

I'm 5'6" and 150lbs. What that has to do with you guys being large, I have no idea but thought I would chime in too. BTW I bet mine accelerates faster..
