Trailor For The Hyper
Hey-
I'm wondering what you guy transport your hyper in. I've looked at the smc-600r from discount ramps, its 259.00 plus shipping curious what you guys think of this and if anyone knows maybe a cheaper motorcycle carrier place, if so please let me know.
Thanks

I'm looking at an aluminum enclosed trailer. I want to use the trailer for track days.

I would like something close to what I attached, bc living in the city storage is a bit tough, which I'm sure you're aware of. So, I was thinking I can easily store it in the basement, but not sure if that price is too high or average for something like that.

I don't have a ton of space for storing a trailer so I bought a Port-A-Chopper trailer.
They're not cheap (starting at close to $1500) but they break down into 4 foot long sections and can theoretically fit in the trunk of your car... as long as you don't upgrade to the 12 inch wheels. That's the only regret I have with this trailer. I end up leaving the axle assembly assembled in the garage but it doesn't get in the way too much. Go with 8 inch wheels and it should come apart easy enough.

How often do you need to tow/carry your bike?

For $124, plus a set of wheel/tires and some sheets of plywood on top, you can get this. it folds up against the wall too. It's what I trailer my bikes on.

I have a small trailer for sale I used for years to transport my dirt bikes. It started out as a bolt together kit, but was welded and reinforced. The whole top has heavy wire mesh (from a warehouse gate) decking welded on to tie down gear. There are two steel channels for bikes that can be unbolted, and you can configure it for single or double bike use. Its light enough to drag around by hand and can be stored on end. Could use a set of tires but includes spare.
If you go with a bumper mount carier you have to get a good one, especially with a Hyper. I do a lot of bike hauling and see some pretty scary setups with cheap bike carriers. Pickup and/or small trailer for me.

I bought a used Shorelander JetSki trailer and bolted a u-shaped steel
rail down the center of it. These trailers have nice 14" wheels and a
very stout tongue with a heavy duty powder coated frame and tow very
nicely. Leaf springs, too. The longer front section makes backing without
jack-knifing much better than the little utility trailers. About $350 used.
Oh, and the drop-center on the frame makes it easier to load up the bike,
since the center rail is much closer to the ground. Some guys just use a
steel motorcycle loading ramp as the bike rail on the trailer itself, depending
on the load requirements, bracing locations, etc. I can still use this trailer
for a watercraft my shifter kart, too...
