New Guy, First Duc
Hi there. Just joined this forum and got my first Ducati last weekend so I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm David Taylor and I live in San Jose, CA. Been riding consistently for about 20 years, but on and off since I was a kid sneaking rides on my buddie's QA 50 and Trail 70 (damn, I might be old! ). The bike is a 2008 Hypermotard 1100S I picked up from a friend. Came with Termignonis, upgraded ECU, the 6 gallon gas tank, DP tail rack and bag, the DP front bra and tank bag, and DP comfort seat. I got a couple of boxes of stock parts and other bits as well. This is the first Ducati I've ever owned, and have been riding BMWs almost exclusively for the last 14 years.
I've put about 400 miles on it this weekend running up around the Santa Cruz Mountains, Highway 25, and various other twisty bits, and I am very impressed and happy with this little beastie. I hope I can get this stupid grin off my face before I go to work tomorrow.
I look forward to meeting folks here and learning more about the bike, community, good aftermarket kit, rides, etc. Hope to see you on the road!

Thanks! I'm always up for a ride, let me know when you're going and I'll try to make it. I'll do likewise.

ciao david, and hope to see you @ one of the south bay area ducati bike night events, such as the santana row bike night on the second monday of each month, or the palo alto bike night on the fourth monday of each month.
we usually have 3 or 4 hypertards in attendance at each event.

Didn't know anything like this was happening, sounds like it could be fun. Where and what time do folks meet up for each of these? And what usually goes on - dinner, stare at bikes, swap stories, lie about how fast we once were, other, etc.?

Here are a couple with the tail pack on. I haven't put the bra and tank bag on yet, but I can throw it on sometime in the next couple of days and snap some pics and post them.
Kinda hidden behind the S1000RR

the ducati bike night event calendar is located on the bottom right of the home page of nor cal ducati DOC web site@: http://www.norcaldoc.com
you pretty much summed up the agenda of ducati bike night ... meeting fellow duc owners, eating good food, swapping riding stories.
