Suspention tuning and tire wear

I have a question about my suspension. From the looks of my tires and wear marks, what can you tell me about my setup. Even after having the suspension guys at Buttonwillow tweak it a bit I have a good bit more unused tire up front than in the rear - 3/4 inch vs 1/4 or less in the back. Can anyone recommend which way I should change things, if at all. Should I even worry about it? I weigh about 165 fully suited up.

looks fine. ride faster and lean more. you are not riding hard enough to chew up the rubber. the only thing that stands out is th lipping on the back of the tread. prob a rebound prob. make sure pressures are not too high also.

It's funny, I can't see the pics due to Gov. Firewalls at work, but I know exactly what they are as I've seen them before from others.

The front has a different profile than the rear so the chicken strips won't be even.

Don't sweat it and ride on...

my experience is when you don't use the same amount of tire on both tires has to do with geometry. You likely need more ride heighth, or to bring the tubes up further in the triples. My standard used to be the same way until I added a height adjuster and brought the back up.

Otherwise, I'd be very happy with that tire wear from track riding.

If that is street riding, I'd be more worried though.

Sounds good. Thanks for the affirmations! No, the burred edges of the strips are from a track day. My street riding doesn't get anywhere close.

Are many folks here playing with ride height much?

The front and rear have two different profiles... That's not just a geometry thing (though at medium pace some of it could be).

Looking at the tires, he's not leaning enough to even get tp the the edge of the rear and not at a pace that will cause the casing to move around on the rear, which is usually the pace that see's you using the entire available front profile...

I would just ride more until you were comfortable enough to use the full available rear. You'll probably not start to play with the suspension until you get uneven wear on the same tire, not so much looking at the front versus the back.

I've been using diablo corsa III's for three years on the track bike and have never experienced a problem with the tires being of a different profile. Why would a company sell a tire that has different profiles?

he means the front and the back are different profiles, which they are...you can't have a 120 with the same profile as 180

ok, that makes sense. The conclusion that I've made considering that I use the tires on two different bikes and have different wear on each bike is that it has to do with the bike's geometry setup.

My R6: I use every mm of the front tire and have about 5mm left until the back is run to the edge.

Hyper: the front has damn near 15 mm until it gets to the edge and the back is all the way to the edge.

My R6 has adjustable ride height and turns in lightning quick, the hyper not so much in it's former state of suspension tune/setup.
