Noob Intake Qs...
I got my tax return, and like the responsible adult I am, it's going directly into my Hyper instead of paying bills etc. So I'm looking at an intake setup, but I'm having trouble sussing out all the info on different intake options. Here's my current relevant mod list:
Termi undertail slipon
DP Racing ECU (full system version)
LV Cat elim.
I don't plan on going with a cam or any other major motor mods, but I would like to upgrade my intake to catch up with the exhaust. I gather there are many options for this right? Beast, Beast R, Duc Shop etc. Which is the most painless, and most HP gains at the bottom end?
I don't really have access to a reputable tuner (or I should say, I don't know of one near me) so dyno tuning might be a pain. Is that needed for an intake upgrade? Is installation a major pitb? I'm fairly mechanically inclined (to put a measure to that, the furthest I've gone into an engine is the valves of a dirtbike) but I have no problem with bolt-on stuff etc. Should I have a shop install the intake I choose?
Sorry if this has been covered to death, but there's almost TOO much info on this for me to decipher. Thanks.

I'll be an interested follower of this thread. I've got the same mods as you on the bike, save DP cat elim vs. LV. I've been eyeing the Duc Shop stacks + a Power Commander and a trip to the local dyno to make it all play nice together.

I'm waiting for my Ducshop stacks kit. I'll add a PCV and dyno tune after the install. I'm also removing the flapper valve assembly and the valve is being removed from the pipe.

I'll check with my parts guy tomorrow, we have stacks but were waiting for more filters. A French group bought 40 kits so cleaned us out temporarily.

No problem here, it's still in the 30's.

Please do, I think I'm leaning towards the Ducs right now just based on the info I could gleam from other threads.
But I'm still waiting on a bit more info. Is PC tuning necessary? Or will it benefit the bike with the factory settings of the DP ECU?

Oh yeah, one more question, I see that neither the Ducs nor the Beast intakes include something called a "coil mounting bracket." What does that mean? Is it necessary? What coil are we talking about? Anybody have pics? Thanks.

I am leaning towards the ducshop kit because of price and the great customer feedback that I've read. Others have zip tied the coild to frame rails etc.
Also from what I read, you should be able to take the bike to the dealer to have them resync the TB's and adjust the ECU to compensate using a gas analyzer for the extra air intake.
That is my plan.
for your reference, here is a link to locate a power commander tuning center in your area in case you decide to get a power commander.
I used that search feature to get a custom tune for my track R6.
