Gains from DP cams and lighter flywheel!?
I'm looking for someone that have Ducati Performance cams (#96451608B) installed and can report what gains they got.
More power/torque where? Losses where? Etc.
Also would like the same with lighten flywheels. Either modified stock or aftermarket ones.
I'm about to buy myself an Hyper and these mods will be high up on my list to do. Did build a 'Paul Smart' bike for the owner of the shop I worked in then just when they came out. Cams didn't exist then so we did the flywheel and it improved the throttle response lots!

I got about 11 whp from cams and the 2-1 exhaust, I think the cams and ecu alone were responsible for around 5-6 whp of that.

There are some posts with this info.
Generally, smartbomb is about on with his numbers for his motor mods.
The guys that did the flywheel really seem to like how she spools up faster.
Out!

Cams ruin the low end and the spirit of the Hyper. If you want HP at the top end, buy a Superbike. Then again, opinions are like assholes....everybody has one. I'm very happy with my modded flywheel. It's turned down to a weight similar to the Ducshop option.

Thanks for the info 'hyperdookie'!
So you did turn down your stock flywheel yourself?
I was thinking of doing something like that too. Drilling big holes through the perimeter of it though for maximum weight removal.

i am calling bullpucky on your comment of loosing low end. i have the race cams and ecu on my hypertard, and do not notice any low end missing. the cams/ecu do smooth out the low end, and hp comes on faster from midrange on up.
and as you say ... this is simply my eh-hole speaking (remember, i'm canadian, eh )

I turned it down myself ,but we have a fairly large lathe luckily. The material is pretty tough and the majority of the job involves an interrupted cut.I wouldn't attempt it on a small lathe.
Johnny, didn't you post some dyno numbers to the contrary?

+1 I didn't notice any difference on the low end at all. Cams, and 2 in to 1

yes, i did post up dyno run comparisons between dp cams/ecu and stock cams/dp ecu (for 2-1 termi system) ... and the dyno showed a torque loss ... but seat of the pants riding (which is what i base MY opinion on, rather than a dyno run, as i don't ride on the dyno that often ), the bike "feels" stronger and smoother, easier to ride in corner transition throttle, etc ...
remember i am an eh-hole
