Angry Anyone Else Have Gearbox Hardening Issues?

My bike started making audibly different noises to Doons, we check the magnetic bung to find pieces of metal, so in to the stealership we go ... again.

So they have torn my motor almost completely down and discovered hardening coming off gears and a ticking sound yet to be found, engine completely torn down the afternoon.

Dunno what else they will find however this afternoon will reveal all, bike was service by them 577 km ago, bike has 11979 km on it.

Wow, such a nice dealer to actually not blame you for the problem!

Intersting. I just changed my oil for the 3rd time at 5000 miles and I found a couple of small slivers of metal on the magnet that has me a bit concerned. Nothing at all in the screen. I am going to cut the filter open and check it out too. The dealer did the first change at 700 miles, so I have no idea what that looked like. I did the second change at 2500 miles and there was a little sludge and a couple of small rubbery bits in the screen, but nothing else.

Unfortunately, my 2 years was up in January. I am not sweating it a lot, just curious.

I hope they do you right and it costs you nothing. Last time I had a warranty tear down on a Kawi MXer, they let me throw in some cams, valves, and port the head for the cost of parts. I felt like a winner in the end.

Out!
