MotoIQ.com Project Hypermotard
I would like to post a link to my webzine www.motoiq.com. We are a tuner webzine that is pretty well known the the 4-wheel world but we have do have some 2 wheel stuff.
We have just launched a Hypermotard project and thought you guys might like to see it. Its pretty mild so far and probably no big deal for a lot of you hardcore guys, but we will tinker with it more as the series progresses.
Here is the link.

If you like serious car tech and motorsports you will love our site in general. I hope you guys take the time to check it all out.
Thank You!

I had a look at your site after you posted in the what cars do we drive thread. Overall i thought it was a good write up on the hyper and look forward to see where you go with the project.

In the next edition we will probably write about adding the cams and dynoing the bike.

Can you dyno it before the cams??
There are some folks on here that say that you lose a lot of the mid-range torque with the cams. It would be outstanding if you could do a baseline dyno run before you started any mods, especially cams.
Thanks,
Dave

nice read but to throw all the DP goodies from the catalogue on the bike is in my opinion not a "project", will wait to see what is next...

interesting start. would be great if you could post a profile pic of the bike with that windscreen to get more of a perspective of its overall effect on the bikes lines.
i've been hesitant to add a windscreen...a lot of the bikes i've seen that have them look super dorky.

I agree. An afternoon of bolting on aftermarket parts doesn't make a bike "custom". No one off parts, no paint, no powder coating, no chrome
No Originality... It wouldn't make the cut to be on DucCutters.

Mods
Still, nice to see someone out there tuning a hyper - post up engine /airbox etc mods - screw the accessory catalog - have a bit of that on the site already.

I didnt think that most of you hardcore Hypermotard riders would particularly like our project as its not a super trick bike but something most of you could easily do.
If you look at how we do stuff on MotoIQ, we are not really into Kustom stuff, our project cars don't have the custom paint, body kits, chrome and stuff, not that there is anything wrong with that but thats not what we are about. Our project cars are pretty hard core, running the gamut from serious street machines to pro race and drift cars. They are not hard core cosmeticaly. Our editors are kinda like that so it how the editorial comes out. If you are into cars, if you look around, you will probably like our stuff.
So our Hypermotard isnt going to have a bunch of custom cosmetic stuff. In fact it probably isnt going to be that crazy, we are going to look for weight reduction that doesnt hurt functionality, A little more into the engine, probably cams, air intake and ECU tuning, not digging deep into the internals. We will look into upgrading the front suspension and thats about it. A lot of it is because I am a puss and I can't handle a bike with much more power so looking for a lot more power would be a waste for me.
Its actualy my own bike and my tastes are not to change the stock look and lines which I happen to like. I also like factory performance upgrades. I used to be an engineer for Nismo, Nissan's high performance arm and I know our stuff was a lot better engineered than the aftermarket. I like when people customizing their bikes and admire a lot of it but its just not my personal taste. If you look at my EVO or my Z they look stock but if you look close, they are pretty hard core under the skin.
So I hope you guys can take this project for what it is and enjoy it, if not, oh well, do it on your own bike
