Turn off Hyper headlight?

I am taking some daytime photos of the Hyper in motion, and the headlight is destroying ths photos.

Is there any very easy way to turn off the headlights? The only thing I can think of is to remove the headlight fuse, which is not a simple task.

Fastest way is to get some red or black tape and just cover the headlight. Depends on how you feel about having the headlight covered in the pictures.

Smile Unplugged

You can unplug the head light plug behind the headlight or pull the headlight fuse. The fuse is probably the easiest option.

I wouldn't recommend putting tape on the lens. It get very hot and will might cause you problems removing it...

is the issue that your exposure is getting screwed up? if so, set it with the light off and stay in manual for the actual shots. if it's blowing out the shot when you expose for the dark parts of the bike then ya, you may want to turn it off.

what are you shooting with?

Thanks for all the ideas. I think the fuse is the way to go. It is a pitty, as there is a fair bit of work to do that. But it will be worth it...

I am shooting with a Canon 7D, and 15 to 85mm lense. The equipment is fantastic. The monkey pushing the button has a bit to learn though! :-)

Not really a lot of work to remove the headlight fuse. Get a bright light shining
into the slot in the right side fairing. The rubber lid of the fuse box can be seen
from the top... pry open the latches on each end of the outer edge of the lid.
Then use a needle nose pliers to remove the headlight fuse... it is a 15 amp
fuse, one of two (second fuse from the _rear_ of the fuse box).
