Zards.. Absolute crap design - beware!
Went for my first ride on my Hyper as my license was suspended and the Zard pipes that were on it literally broke off
The design is an accident waiting to happen. The rivets are too close to the edge of the carbon and if it wasn't for the number plate holder tube the pipes would have fallen off possibly causing the guys behind me to crash.
Here's a pic to explain..

It would seem that the perforated core should be bonded to the forward section
so that the carbon wrap was not holding the assembly together. Does anyone know
if this Zard Top Gun was built incorrectly? If the tips were secured to the
center cores and the cores were spot welded to the front bulkhead, the carbon wrap
would not have a significant role in keeping everything from blowing apart.

Really HOT carbon wrap is NOT structural - if you make it structural it will likely soften and fail. The inner core (or some other internal structure) in the picture should be the structural member - this looks like a manufacturing defect. IMO Zard makes good stuff generally...

..wow, I was pretty much set on this exhaust for mine. Hope this was a rush job at the Zard factory on a Friday afternoon. IMO that should be covered under some kinda warranty.

i had the same problem and also the end caps falln off!absolute garbage exhaust system would never buy or recomend them to anybody!almost forgot my single tube going along the gas tank was so close to it that it burnt a hole through it and gas was leaking out....so when i investigated the prob it ended up being bent wrong...made a new one,and shortened my exhaust so i could put collars on the inside with new rivets not so close to the edge.dont even waste your time tryn to get it replaced theyre customer service is terrible....moral to story live and learn...sorry to hear about yours as well.hope everybodys ok

I forwarded this thread to ZARD and suggested they give it their full and immediate attention. I believe this is an isolated incident as we've sold lots of top gun slip-ons and have never heard of any issues, especially nothing as dramatic is this!
To the OP, have you contacted your supplier regarding this issue? They should be able to get this sorted for you.

i have friends that have them as well and no problems,im not saying all their systems are faulty but mine sure the hell was ive noticed that some have the rings around the ends where the rivets are..well mine did not, dont know if i got the first batch or what.never the less i fixed em myself and they have been solid for about 5000 miles, just thought i would add my two cents to the other faulty system to let him know hes not the only one.i fixed my gas tank and the exhaust tube as well and decided to move on.yea anthony i wish i did purchase from you but it was before i knew about desmoworks, everything i purchased from you has been top notch especially your customer service and will only be ordering from you and bellisi from now on.

I think that the Arrow stuff is still the best, but a lot of people use Zard ... including NCR. I'd say this situation is a fluke.

Yeah, but who gets the "fluked" parts? I don't have time for the R&R, shipping back, etc, so I won't take a chance with that manufacturer.
