folding shift and rear brake pedals ...

ciao a tutti -

just got back from a lunch meeting with a supermoto aftermarket parts manufacturer, as we discussed the idea of manufacturing and marketing folding shift and rear brake pedals for the hypermotard.

i feel this sort of set up would be a great addition to the hypermotard, as these two pedals are usually the first hard parts to drag when cornering. heck, i think even multistrada (first gen) owners would benefit, as they use the same pedals, and their bikes will grind these parts when cornering as well.

so, if these pedals were similar in design to what some of the supermoto/motocross pedals already on the market are (see photos below) ... how many hypermotard owners would be interested?

agreed ... a rubber cover would be included and would be replaceable in the finished design.

and as a pre-emtive answer to "rubber" questions from the likes of andi, neil, francesco and others:
the rubber covers will NOT be ribbed for her pleasure, nor will they have a reservoir tip.

but for the record Frustration, the bottom one is a brake lever.

I hope you don't spend too much time trying to upshift yours......

I like the top one and the botom one very much.
If reasonably priced, I would be very quick to place my order.

How many people would you need to start something ?

But Johnny, they ARE ribbed, Just not necessarily for her pleasure. She'll just have to be flexible to achieve her pleasure. Maybe when she's down there to do the oil change.I was looking into these levers when I was looking at the KTM 530 exc as I would need an extended shift lever before I could even consider riding one with with bulky MX boots. They are in RWC right? Beautiful products.I would definitely consider them.I solved my problem of being able to get my freakishly big foot under the shifter on the Hyper by getting the Shifttech pegs, but since the levers remain in the same spot, my lever tips are slowly disappearing.

i knew i could count on you to supply a porn reply

the top shift lever and the rear brake lever/pedal are indeed from hammerhead ... and yes, they are located in redwood city.

if we do manufacture these, we will most likely use a fab/manufacturing group i know in italy. yeah, i know ... aluminum is aluminum for the most part, but the group i want to use is fantastic when it comes to machining quality and finish quality.

Since there is no spline on the Duc shifter like on the pictured Hammerhead off road part, there is no broach required. This should make tooling costs and final cost cheaper. John, Hammerhead has responded to us in the GasGas community, and now produces shifters for our bikes at a good price, which are much more rare than Hypers. May want to check if they have something in the works before you make an investment.
