Hypermotard - hole near exhaust?

Can anyone tell me why there is a hole in the steel tube between the Termi exhaust? It looks like some leftover from the original exhaust. And it is not even a nicely drilled hole, more like someone nibbled it out with a cold chissel! :-(

Anyone done something to hide this?

No really! Are you saying they nibbled this hole out DELIBERATELY? It looks terrible.

It does look quite out of place, but it is in fact a Termi logo. It would have been much nicer if they had laser etched it and added some detail instead of just punching it out with a blunt object. But I guess you could say it's also for weight savings?

Well that takes the cake! I complained about it to the Ducati dealer after they fitted the exhaust, and they did not know what it was. I thought it was a botched job to fit something, as it looked like someone had had several goes at drilling holes in there and elongating them.

Everyone I have showed it to has said it looks terrible. I actually only noticed it looked like the Termi logo for the first time just after posting this thread and looking at the picture.

I was just saying today that some kind of etching would have been nice, but that looks terrible as it is. Now, what to cover it up with! :-)
