There are two other threads in this forum on adjusting the headlight on the Hypermotard, but they are incomplete, and my adjustment is located in a slightly different spot than the one picture I saw.
1. Find some level ground at least 23 foot long with a wall at one end. I used the inside of my garage, which is perfectly flat.
2. Sit on the bike with all of your gear you normally ride with.
3. Have someone measure the distance from the ground to the headlight bulb.
4. Mark that distance on the wall, and make another mark 2 inches below that mark
5. Move the bike headlight exactly 17 feet from the wall with the markings, pointing at those markings.
6. Sitting on the bike with all of your gear and using low beam, the top of the light spot should be right on that mark 2 inches below the headlight height.
7. Hop off the bike and tilt the handlebars completely to the left.
8. Use a philips head screwdriver to adjust the light up or down as shown in the image below. Clockwise adjusts down, Anticlockwise adjusts up. WARNING: There is no limit stop the screw, so adjust in small increments. I adjusted mine by 4.5 turns in half turn increments.
The settings for the positioning of the light were gathered from my Google searches. Some said the light should be 17 foot from the wall, and others said 25 foot. I have not yet ridden in the night since the adjustment, but will post my results when I do.
I have not covered the left-right adjustment, as it was not needed in my case. The screw for left-right adjustment can be found by turning the handlebars completely to the right, and the screw is about 2 inches lower than the one shown in the above image.
