suggested roads from bay area to death valley?

ciao a tutti -

i am guessing that a few of the hypertarders here attended the lake isabella trip last year, and might have some suggested roads to ride from the sf bay area, down to death valley.

please advise ... as this will be my first ride to death valley, and i want to ride some great roads on the hypertard.

btw, trip is planned for last weekend of this month, if that makes a difference in road conditions.

ciao,
johnc

Your only worry will be gas.

Hwy 25 south from Hollister to Hwy 58 to Bakersfield

Instead of 198, take Peachtree / Indian Valley to San Miguel, slab or take the backroad to Creston and pick up 58 there. Peachtree was made for Hypers.

If you want some more miles, take 33 south from the 58 to Cerro Noreste (another perfect road) to Frazier Park and the 5, then drop south to the 138 across to Rosamond, then across Edwards to 395 and north to the 190.

Long day but a big smile (our standard route north is similar).
