Lowering bike with adjustable linkage?
Hola HyperTistas
I am interested in hearing from anyone who has lowered their standard Hyper using the "Ducati Hypermotard Adjustable Linkage" that apparently varies the rear end height of the bike... I only want to lower it about 10-15mm.
To all who are going to suggest I try lowering my seat first:
1. I have tried the Comfort Low seat, but it was not comfortable for me.
2. I had Sargent build me a custom low seat, but, that didn't work for me either.
I find the DP racing seat is the most comfortable for my riding style, but I am on my tippy toes (which I am willing to continue to do as I absolutely love this bike). It would sure be nice to more solidly touch the ground, so, I am wondering if installing the adjustable linkage would work for me.
Thanks, sara

Lowered
I have the DP Comfort seat on 1100S and I've lowered the back as low as it will go. To me, it handles much better (turn quicker) and I'm not always sliding toward the tank. Plus I can set at a stop light with both feet on the ground.
I'm also considering lowering the triple tree clamps about 10mm down. I just haven't got the time yet.

That is good news.
Do you know if I got the Ducati Hypermotard Adjustable Linkage if it would be the same thing that allowed you to lower your 1100S?:

linkage
I'm pretty sure it's the exact same linkage. You just need a 19mm wrench.

I did just what you are asking about and it seems to work just fine. I have a standard model and purchased the adjustable link online (I also noticed there is one on ebay right now for about $60). I lowered it as far as it would go and dropped the forks in the triple tree about 1/2". I'm 5'6", use the DP race seat and it helped a lot. The height before never really bother me except for inclines and I don't need that much ground clearance for street riding. All in all I might have gotten an inch out of it.
Also my dealer mentioned they had a machine shop that could shorten the length even a bit more if I needed it, but I don't want to screw with the ride height/suspension that much. If I get to do some track days I may bring it back up and set the suspension up better for that.
Hope that helps

Did you notice the the comfort low seat was actually lower. I need to get half an inch to be completely comfortable and was wondering if i should buy that seat or have my stock seat customized.
