Sub frame back togetherness

almost

I have one thing left to do which is vexing me....putting the rubber bungs back in the subframe that support the seat..1 each side any ideas before I butcher them with a sharp blade?

BTW tank removal is unecessary

to re-install the stock rubber bumpers, use some wd-40 and spray the side of the bumper with the tit that goes into the hole in the frame ... then work the bumper tit into the hole moving side to side whilst pushing down.

note: i replaced the stock rubber bumpers with some harder compound rubber bumpers (the kind you can get at a hardware store ... they have through holes in them for screws, and are used on bottom of furniture legs) ... and used some allen head bolts, washers and nyloc nuts to secure them to the frame, through the holes for the stock rubber bumper tits.

i managed to source some of these harder rubber bumpers that are taller than the stock rubber bumpers ... this along with some additional washers, raised the height enough so that the seat pan does not rock side to side when installed, as the stock rubber bumpers will allow.
