Just wondering if anybody has painted or powder coated their gas cap. I would love to see what it looks likes. Thanks

Yeah do a search for a couple threads on this. One for sure is by a member named Fresno. They did powdercoating for the durability and fuel proofing. The key to doing it is removing the lock assembly before painting.
Out!

I did my cap while doing my other work. I'll most likely change the color when I redo the wheels in the near future, but I have had no issues with quality of the powder coat. Looks the same as the first day.
I did find a thread here with instructions to remove tumbler which inspired me to do it in the first place, i'll see if i can did it up

Thank you for the picture and all the info. I was thinking about coloring the cap black with the inner circle red. I will Look at my options of Anodizing, powder coating, or even painting. Painting it black is easiest and looks fine, but I'm just not so sure about the red paint. I'll post some pictures if I do get it done.

I tried to get my cap anodized red and I was told you can't anodize cast aluminum. I wound up getting it painted red with a mat finish and I have to say it looks good. I think powdercoating would be more durable tho. Good luck let us know what you do.

Can you post pics of your gas cap. I've been very curious to see the bike with an all red gas cap.

I changed my mind about the paint scheme. I'm going to try painting most of it black, and have the grooves (dipped areas along the outside) painted red. I'll post some pics when it is done.
Com'on guys if you have painted them, please post some pictures. Thanks
