Unpainted swingarm?
Anyone strip their Hyper swingarm down to bare metal? I'm thinking it might look good.Maybe not as nice as the sbk one tho.

My .02 cents.....No sure if it would look too good. The SBK swing is a combination of cast and stamped aluminum. It's the stamped, brushed aluminum that looks great on the SBK. In the end you'll need something to protect the aluminum from oxidizing. Not sure if the SBK swingarm anodized or clearcoated, in general casting well not anodize well.

Technically all aluminum is anodized, it happens naturally in atmosphere. I am guessing SBK swingarm is anodized and not dyed. Castings may not anodize well, but that doesn't affect the appearance as they are dyed. And 'does not come out well' usually just means is uneven and is only a consideration for moving or wearing parts, shouldn't impact aesthetic projects unless the pores are so uneven that it affects dye retention.

You're right, I was talking about additional electrochemical process of anodizing, not the naturally occurring oxide film. The naturally occurring isn't much of a cosmetic surface finish when subject to the environments.
The current 1198 swingarm is black so it's dyed, the first 1098's were clear. If I was anodizing for wear items I'd pass on the dyes anyways since I'd want it hard anodized.
