"Hey... Watch this!"

You know how so many mishaps start with that phrase? I didn't even have the chance to say it. I was setting up the wheelie cam to try and capture a mono fly by and, thanks to my lack of experience in dirt, didn't make it so far.

I can't believe I'm posting this.

This is precisely why I took off the stock hand guards and mirrors. Other than a couple minor scratches (excuse for a cool paint job) and some sand in the pegs, she's fine.

Moral of the story: Everyone drops their bike. Fortunate ones do it in VERY soft dirt at less than 1 mph.

Sorry, I was slightly demoralized by that one. But hey, I'm on vacation with nothing to do but practice! Actually, don't get your hopes up. I'm still learning and have yet to get past the first-gear-launch-wheelie.

...but maybe I should focus on keeping the bike upright

, great guns hooptygoo.

Cheers for posting that, nice to know there are normal riders amongst us and not too proud to stump up for funnies and fopars....which we all make

Keep practicing wheelies as they are great fun and easy eough given time, try second gear as a pick up and go from there.

Merry Christmas and glad your handguards didn't suffer, mine are safely stored in a box and I have structural bark busters in place.
