You know how so many mishaps start with that phrase? I didn't even have the chance to say it. I was setting up the wheelie cam to try and capture a mono fly by and, thanks to my lack of experience in dirt, didn't make it so far.
I can't believe I'm posting this.
This is precisely why I took off the stock hand guards and mirrors. Other than a couple minor scratches (excuse for a cool paint job) and some sand in the pegs, she's fine.
Moral of the story: Everyone drops their bike. Fortunate ones do it in VERY soft dirt at less than 1 mph.

Sorry, I was slightly demoralized by that one. But hey, I'm on vacation with nothing to do but practice! Actually, don't get your hopes up. I'm still learning and have yet to get past the first-gear-launch-wheelie.
...but maybe I should focus on keeping the bike upright
