New Hyper-Kid on the block
Hi Guys, I am totally Green to the Ducati scene. This is a great site...I've only been on here for a few days now and have soaked up a ton of info & learned a lot about the bike's. I used to race a lot of Motocross when I was kid. Since then I have owned a quite a few in-line four Jap bikes...Ninjas, GSXRs ect... I have always wanted a Ducati twin. My Neighbor had a 06 999 Superbike for a short while. I remember him firing that beast up early Saturday mornings to go for a ride, Man I would jump out of my bed and run to my window just to hear it & get a glimpse of him roaring down the block! Well...I finally got my Ducati...It's not so pretty right now it's banged up pretty good. It's a 2008 1100 Hyper. I purchased it from a local Insurance auction. Needless to say I need lot of parts. I'm hoping to find most of them here. Anyways I am looking forward to this site & getting into the game!!
Thanks, Gerry in Seattle

Yea lets see what yah got!!! Take your time and think things out , Figure out what you want to end up with , Prolly a lot of stock parts out there you could save a bundle on rather than blingin it all up with expensive cool aftermarket bits and pieces ,
It's up to you and your budget ,
The budget thing usually gets thrown out the window unless you are of really a strong willed character....
Just get it up to proper riding snuff , saftely , then go wild with the extras , There is nothing wrong with a stock Hyper ,,BUT there is so much more you can do with it .....
Have fun and don't be afraid to ask questions ,lots of info here ..Do some searches first to be able to ask good questions ....If you get stuck ,,don't hesitate ,,AND don't take ones word as true for all situations just cause it was said here ...
What ever works for you....

A damaged hyper would be an excellent starting point, the sky is now the limit

Thanks Guys for the warm welcome! Yeah, I just want to get her up & running & riding safely in stock form for now. I have already found so many cool & tasty bits for this bike. The frame, sub, forks, wheels are seem to be fine...no damages. All the bodywork is either cracked-up or missing. I need all the plastics up front including the headlight. It's going to be a project...an expensive one at that, but I'm up for it & very excited about owning one of these exotic Italian machines.
I will try to post some pics but not really sure how to yet??
Please post any advice or input...like I said I am very Green here.
Thanks!!

My bike had a tip over a while back. I have a right side fairing with a tiny scratch on it a right passenger peg bracket and handle bars also with very minor damage on them. Went through insurance that's why I replaced them but very minor damage. The only reason I am offering is if you are going to custum paint your bike you could cover up the scratches and I would sell them alot cheaper then if you had to buy them new. PM me if you are interested. I wish you lot's of luck getting your bike ready to ride. It is an awesome bike you will have so much fun with it. Oh also got a right side carbon exhaust cover with some scratches. Like I said if you were going to paint these parts it might be of intrest to you. I was just saving them in case I went down but I could use some cash saving up for a slipper clutch.
