Heat shield

The heat shield on my 09 S model isn't stuck in place very well.Contact cement?Epoxy? Yah,i know,warranty,and i'm a bit anal.

I've seen that on other "S" models -- how about just pulling that stuff off. Doubt it's doing much.

+ eleventy billion for pulling it off. carbon fiber is pretty heat resistant on its own.

yea rip that crap off if you want to replace there is a brand called thermo kool and it sticks very well...it actually needs that stuff on the gas tank where the pipe leading to the cans is pretty close to the tank ive seen a few get leaks from melting.

yea that stuff sticks to anything just did my floor of my 54 chevy over spray in bedliner it should be quiet in there.

I had the same issue, I just brushed rubber cement on them and haven't had any issues since.
I also think that the carbon will be fine without the heat shielding, they aren't that close to the pipes!
