will not go into 1st

My hypermotard will not down shift correctly or go into first. When riding the bike seems fine going up the gears but once i go to down shift the first down shift is fine then the peddle feels dead and it doesnt down shift. When at a stop it is almost impossible to get the bike in first. I did adjust the shifter last night (got new boots) but I put it back after this shifting issue started.

Never mind .. I figured it out .. I over tightened the linkage and it was hanging up.. sorry
