Sticky starter?

So the HyperMaud say for four days, and when I took it out in the morning yesterday, it was decently cold (for California).

Started it up, and when I took my thumb off the starter - the starter kept going. I hit the kill switch and stopped everything.

Tried it again, and all was well, so I rode away (had a great ride)...but am a little anxious about this. Has this happened to anyone else?

If the bike was not running, then yes it will happen. If the bike was running, and the starter was running with the engine idling, then you have an issue.

The bike is designed to start itself.. you should see it if you breifly hold the starter button, and the engine will continue to turn over till it's started. Then the starter will turn off.

Servo start, its described right on the label on the tank cover, so people won't freak out.
