Microtec and Nemesis ECUs

After doing a fair bit of research I have a few quick observations on these systems:
  • Both systems are around $1000.
  • You utilize the software that comes with the ECU to zero out the TPS. Basically find the bottom and the top it interpolates the entire throttle range or you can fully customize it to whatever you want.
  • You don’t get a service reminder anymore with these ECUs.
  • They 100% fully customizable and tuneable no matter what modifications you do to the engine.
  • Reading the manual for Nemesis ECU there doesn’t appear to be anything you can’t do with it
.

Do I need a $1000 fully customizable race ECU for my HM? No, I don’t. But when I look at the VDST software to zero the TPS and read diagnostic codes for $200. And the DJ PCIII for almost $300 (becuase I would like to get the most out of the bike) and know that I could ebay my DP ECU and get $250-300 it begins to make a lot of sense. So for an extra $200 it seems worth it. Especially when I have Indy Ducati with a dyno ¾ of a mile from my work to help set it up.

Am I missing something? I honestly don’t know much about these systems.

If you want to get the most out of your bike, the Nemesis or Microtec is the way to go. Since they are not an add-on like the DJ-PC, they respond faster to signal inputs and you have many parameters you can change/use (rpm limiter, gear based maps, ignition map, wideband tuning, etc)

You can use the maps provided or customize your own setup. Better have someone who knows what they're doing if you choose to customize, otherwise you could be in a world of hurt. Your ordinary Dyno Jet jockey probably won't cut it.
