Can I get a yes or no on this?
I've done a ton of searching and reading of countless posts on this topic but it has only contributed to my confusion. Can someone please tell me this: I am having the DP cam kit installed on my bike as we speak. I also have a Quat-d Exbox sitting in my garage waiting to be installed by me this weekend. Do i need to do anything else in terms of fuel tuning? The guy at the dealership said I might need a power commander. Now im confused, i thought the reason to go with a DP ecu was to avoid the power commander. help!

DP ECU is for the cams in combination with the Termi exhaust, you now have something complete different as an exhaust, it will work and you won't have a check engine light with your new exhaust but to tune it perfectly you will need a PC, that's if you want it to perform 100%. Right now you are at apx. 90% with your setup.

while there are countless others more informed than I, let me give it a shot here.
In short, you don't need a PowerCommander but it does help is managing the boatload of additional fuel the race ECU dumps into the chambers. I heard somewhere around 18% more fuel, if memory holds.
ok, now the more technical folks step in.

Thank you! For your honesty and candor, I will order a rear hugger from you. When my next paycheck arrives!

In that case ask anytime .
You are going to be fine with the DP ECU just for normal ridding. The main thing the PC would do is tune it to your specific pipe and get everything tuned perfect with air/fuel ect.
Just ride it and see how it acts, you can always get a PC at a later point.

I think thats what I'll do. I wont be back on the track for a few months anyway, and for the street riding I do, dont really need 100% performance. Do i need to put the o2 sensor back in with the new exhaust and ecu?

I removed them from my HM when I had a full exhaust on it and was running the DP cam ECU a while back but I also had a PC on it since I wanted the quick shifter. That's a question your dealer should be able to answer you.

If you have a dyno near by throw it on there and check the air/fuel ratio at various loads and you'll know where you are at. It will be obvious if you need a PC to iron out any issues.

I have been saving this link on My eBay for when I get an exhaust...

Read it through, very good deal (IMHO).
