Duc Shop Velocity Stack Kit
For those who have done this, is it worth it? I've seen the dyno curves, but I'm interested in opinions from street riders that use the entire range especially the mid, not track riders primarily looking for top end gains. I currently have an LV system, DP airbox lid, K&N filter, and DP 2-1 ECU.

I've got a full Termi system and when I installed the Ducshop stacks BIG difference! My butt dyno told me the entire RPM range felt improved, namely the midrange. I think it was the best performance money spent.

to get the best you'll need a power commander. I had them on the bike but the loss of throttle snap at low rpm without a PC made me take them off. (that and I was going deaf!)
they will go back on when i order my HC pistons, PC3/5, flywheel and cams.

i have a ducshop built hypermotard, but I bought it with the velocity stack and everything else installed. I can't tell you therefore how much the V.S. by itself improves things... but it makes a huge loud f-in noise ( ) on acceleration.

Have you tried your stacks on other engines, like the 900ie?

I'm definitely interested in picking up this mod. Besides the potential gain (in conjunction with the PClll) I like the secondary benefit of cooling the aft jug a little bit. I do track the Hyper while I'm waiting to snag a 749r or s.

Question: Since the larger CACycle tank includes "pod filters" and gets rid of the air box, won't that give you a similiar performance gain?
On a side note, I was trying tonight to finish up my 7500 mile service. Removed the tank to clean the air filter and check the vertical cylinder valve clearances and I found 3 of the 6 screws in he top cover of the air box won't come out. The inserts are stripped in the plastic box. Tried prying up on the cover while turning and none of them would budge. Started getting late so I gave up and put it back together. Guess the previous owner or the local dealer was a little heavy handed. And since when I bought the bike the PO told me he had all the service done at the dealer. So where does that leave me? I'm pretty sure I won't be getting that air filter out without f$%#&*g up that air box.

No, just slapping a filter on the throttle body typically results in a loss. The point of the stack is to smooth and tune the flow. Sounds good to me, but Pedro's comment about lost low end snap is in contradiction to the others. The dyno curve doesn't support this either.
