Valentino Rossi riding a Ducati MotoGP in 2010
According to La Repubblica - one of the most important Italian newspapers - on September 14th 2009 at 6:30 pm, an Audi S6 arrived at Porgo Panigale. Uccio Saletti was at the wheel, Jeremy Burges on the passenger seat and... Valentino Rossi was in the backseat.
According to some sources, Rossi would be riding a Ducati next year! And he would take Davide Brivio with him, plus Jeremy Burges and a bunch of mechanics. Ducati would have 2 teams: Ducati 1: with Casey Stoner and Nicky Hayden.
Ducati 2: with Valentino Rossi.
For those of you who speak the language, here is the link to La Repubblica:

Will see. Apparently there is a sort of pre-agreement for now. I'm just reporting the news because if it's true it'd be fantastic.
Ciao,
Francesco

I'm still skeptical but will admit that the GP bike/program would benefit greatly from a relationship with Rossi.
It worked for Honda and Yamaha...

Rossi is a contracted Yamaha rider for 2010. I believe all the signs point to him riding for Ducati next and argue the point at great length if you are interested.
Why Rossi will finish his career with Ducati

Anyway, I guess we'll know better after Phillip Island.

Not gonna happen. Rossi is contracted with yamaha. Ducati has already penned their riders too. I'm sure it the italian dream to have Rossi aboard a Duc but, its only a dream.
Its more likely that Rossi would ride a Buell in the future! lol

I can't agree more... Also, regarding the Ducati 2 team, apparently it will be a sort of satellite team, of course with full factory backing, just like Valentino old Honda Nastro Azzurro Team.

If only Buell were still around next year... Unfortunately, as of today, Buell doesn't exist anymore.
Erik Buell just announced almost in tears they are shutting down operations:

Ahh, and by the way, Harley Davidson is going to sell MV Augusta.
