Rear huggers any good?

Hey everytime I get off my Hyper there's small rocks and grit under the seat, they even roll off the seat and drop into my (short) boots so when I arrive at work I have to take my boots off and empty them out. One tim I even heard a dink when a rock lobbed on my helmet! I'm thinking its the Term 2-1 that has left some gaps on the sides.

Anyway I was looking at rear huggers. I doubt one would help what I'm talking about but I wondered why more people don't use them?

Shift-Tech makes excellent products, and many of us here use their stuff.

The rear hugger is great for keeping crap off the shock and engine, but unfotunately, it's not going to stop what you're describing. Due to the "exposed" design of the underside of the Hyper's tail, you're always going to get dirt and gravel flung all around...

Forget DP, too short, they look cool and that IS their function, as the boys say, shiftech or similar!

Be mindful of your battery getting rocks between it & gas tank= holes, not good, I put Sil Plate Gasket around battery so stones can't get stuck in there . 1/4 inch thick , cheap piece of mind . It is what they use between the cement foundation on a house and the 2"X6" wood ,Kinda like styrofoam...

I think I'll have to trade my DP one for a Shift Tech soon, the DP is indeed way too short.

Hey thanks for that fellas, there was a cheap DP one on Ebay that I was eyeing off, much better options from you. The "rocks between tank and battery" sounds like a recipe for disaster!

Install

I was looking at the Shifttech. Anyone know the difficulty of install? I don't want to drill anymore holes in my 1198.

Thanks.
