Battery failure

I guess it didn't like the ride into Ca. Couple of days in Sonora and cranking slower. Thought I may have left the lock on "park". Now in Vacaville, slapped the tender on it for the first time, turned green inside of ten minutes. meter reads 13.4 volts and dropping 1 volt every 3-5 sec. out of bike. Used to read 13.8 and steady. Assembly date 11/07, purchased 2/08. I going to look for a better quality than stock. I've never had a battery fail in less than two years. The service wrench showed up @ 14907 miles. Such the welcome home, , ,

Lots of guys here vouch for the Westco.

That's certainly the sign of a bad battery, it will keep volts, but no amp capacity.

BTW, I love the license plate on your bike (I'm a Phoenix native).

New battery ordered from the local shovelhead shop (L&D open Monday) installed and charged. It turns over way faster than when new, my guess it never was 100% from day one.

No other variation listed in the Parts Unlimited catalog for the YT12B-BS so stock it is.

I think he meant brand and medium; apparently there is some variation in quality across brands and of course, lead-acid or gel.

Looks like mine isn't going to recover (been almost four days on the tender and it's still RED) so I'm probably going to go with the Westco gel, there was another discussion here about that. (Sigh.) I hate changing the battery on the ST2.
