Cush Drive Wear?

I have a 08 Hyper with 15 k miles on it, and it seems like the rear sproket is running way out of round, chain goes tight and loose, there is very little wear on the sprocket. Any one else seen this issue?

When the chain goes tight and loose it is very typically the chain wearing
unevenly (chain "stretch" is actually just slop induced by wear of the
individual link pivots). I've seen cheap, non- o ring chains do this in under
1000 miles. The OEM Hyper chain is a medium grade DID o-ring type. If
you have 15k on the original chain, it is likely the culprit. One of the things you
will see commonly stated in chain slack setting instructions is to rotate the
wheel and set the tension at the tightest point on the chain. This is in
reference to the uneveness of the "stretch" in a typical drive chain.

All that said, often at 15k the sprockets should be replaced along with a new chain,
since worn sprockets are a mismatch to a fresh chain... and it wouldn't be a
bad idea to throw in 5 new cush mounts while you have it all apart if the
budget allows.
