Question DP ECU with stock exhaust?

I am experiencing popping on the decel, and I assume this is because of the lean air/fuel mixture .....

I have read on this forum that folks solve this problem by getting an aftermarket exhaust and DP ECU, but, I like the stock exhaust

So, is it possible to get a DP ECU (and keep my stock exhaust)?
And is the answer is Yes, where do I get one?!

Yes it will but a fat duc will do the job much cheaper

Oooohhhhh, I see...... my apologies to all for asking an already much discussed question I didn't realize the function of the fatduc was to deal with the air/fuel mixture! Sweeeeet

So, even though the fatduc does the job cheaper, is there any downside to using the fatduc versus getting the DP ECU?

And, I guess I'm still curious about my original question:
Can we use the stock exhaust and DP ECU? Has anyone out there done this, and what are your results?

Thanks!

The 308B slipon ECU would be the better choice of the three DP ECUs with stock pipes & opened airbox, tune-able for flapper and O2 probe, fuel range will suffer, + better wheelies. That setup would benefit with a LV cat eliminator, no flapper pipe for best results

I"ve done this and its fine, solves all the lean problems and the bike runs way coolerand smoother. A big advantage is if you want an exhaust later your all set.

Whoa there, cowboy! This is some great stuff ... 'esplain pleeze:
(you don't have to really, but, if you have the time and patience, I'm ready to learn
1. What's a flapper and what does it do?
2. What's an 02 probe and what does it do?
3. What's an LV cat eliminator and what does it do?
4. Which pipe does the 308B slipon ECU come with?.... is there a link for this one?

Oh, I have the large tank, so, I don't have an air filter box anymore...
thanks!

If your airbox has been removed you should go with the Dp slipon or full system ecu!

The flapper valve is for noise emmisions, best if you remove it when you get aftermarket headers, another reason for dp ecu. LV =LEO VINCIE

o2 probe controls fuel mixture when running stock ecu, remove and unplug it when running aftermarket headers with dp ecu.
Any aftermarket pipes can be run with dp ecu's

The reason you are running lean is because you are getting more air in because of the airbox removial thus popping from exhaust.

Best you get a dp ecu, that will cure your leaness, then you can get aftermarket headers , slipons or full system at your whim.
Or get a full system that comes with dp ecu.

Your welcome, second hand dp ecu's go for about $300, try fleabay or ask on here if some one has one for sale.
TPS will need to be reset after installing.
