PCIII added TP reset ?

Ok, stock ECU, LV cat eliminator and LV slip on's. Everything else is stock. When adding the PCIII with the correct map of course, do I need to do the TP reset or anything else? I know that you need to do this is you go with the DP ECU but could not find in the search if you have to with the PCIII and stock ECU.

Yes you do and you can reset it using the PC111 software and while hooked to the bike, this is a must or she won't run as well for sure.

I suggest saving your current map if you have one, then upload a zero map to start and make sure everything is talking the way it should... not all things are born equal.

Do the TPS reset to start with along with the zero map, your PC111 mapping is only useful from 5k up as well with the std ECU.

Ok, so how do you do the TPS reset? I take it the bike has to be running to do this if you do while connected to the bike?

I checked the PCIII website and they do not mention this.

Oh and I do not have a lap top computer so any changes will have to be made in the house away from the bike.

I just checked here again and my post has gone, is anyone else experiencing problems with the site?

The PC III has a special function that allows storing of your throttle position
endpoints (both 0% and 100%). You'll see the special function when you
have the PC III software. With the Hyper stock ECU _not using_ the PCIII
below 25% throttle, the zero position (which is set by a TPS reset) is not
critical. If you add a PC III on top of a DP ECU for full range open-loop
control, then zeroing the throttle position at the fully closed (idle) position
on the Power Commander would be a good idea.

You would have to hook the bike up to a computer to do any of these TPS
resets. While you can bring the PC III in the house and download new maps,
you can't access the throttle position functions with it detached from the
bike.

Let em see if I got this right.

Ok, so no lap top = no work while on bike or, no adjustment of the TPS.

Stock ECU = no need to reset the TPS with the PCIII.

DPECU = will need to reset the TPS with the PCIII and or the DP ECU by itself.

So if I add the PCIII and not change anything. Then ride it around with the Hyper map installed on the PCIII. Will I have to reset anything if I take it back off and revert back to just the stock ECU?

Side note, I do plan on taking it to a Ducati dealer for the Dyno tune. But it will not be for several weeks. In that time I may want to ride it but am afraid to do damage to the bike by doing so.

I would think you would be OK just running the map from Power Commander for the LV exhaust and stock ecu and calling it good. And if you remove the power commander and just go stock again you should be fine but it will not be as good as with the PC-III.

With any new ECU you need to do the TPS reset for the bike itself, a number
which is stored in the Ducati ECU. This is totally separate from anything
having to do with the Power Commander module. The PC III can be removed
from the bike with no further adjustments required or necessary.

Before the Dyno tune, try the M732-003 map. I've used the M732-003 map
on my Hyper w/stock ECU/Zard exhaust/DP airbox lid and it worked great.
This map is one of four HM maps available for down-load from Power
Commander.

No laptop? You can extend USB from a PC to outside using powered USB hubs and
a few ten-foot USB cables. So it is possible in some cases to have the computer
inside and another guy outside with the bike and do things like endpoint resets and
sending new maps to the PC III. Or, just move your desktop computer into
the garage temporarily! Hey, I've kept old PC's around for just this sort of
thing-- don't need a fast computer for things like the VDST.
