Anyone make a worthy luggage rack...not DP!
Looking for a worthy luggage rack for say a Givi box or the like for some touring here in Japan.
Someone had posted they needed to brace the DP luggage rack as it cracked with minimal weight on it.
Just wondering if somebody came out with something sturdier. If not, I might lok into fabricating something...but would rather spend the time riding!
Dana

Rear Rack
I had a local welder brace my rack - I haven't installed it yet b/c I want to get it powercoated red first. I'll post pix when I get home.
But he was pretty comfy that it'd support 50 pounds.

Modded stock rack
Here's the stock rack (which broke) after it was rewelded and reinforced. I'm going to get it beadblasted and powdercoated red.
A Givi plate mounts to it in about 2 mins.

Heya Dana
Ok, some pics with the custom mounting I built for the Givi rack to fit onto, the custom bracket lives on the bike and the Givi rack takes one minute to put on.
I also use the mount for my soft bag which bungies on, so we have the soft bag, 35L traffic box and big mofo 45 L case which is wide enough to put our tent in.
Any questions fire away.
