Hypermotard on crack
I bought a hypermotard last year from a local dealer last year. I brought it in for its 7500mi service and the service manager informed me that the frame and motor are cracked. I have never dropped or abused the bike, and it is 100% stock. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue.

Interesting.... I've noticed a small amount of oil residue on the case by the upper left engine mount on my Hyper after rides. I've wondered if the sidecase sealant may have a small defect allowing for this but the thought that the case may be cracked has crossed my mind...
I've had 3 air cooled Ducs and never had any problems with leakage in this area...
Guess I'll need to take a closer look at the engine mount and the case.

Check out this thread for an engine crack (center case):
New Hyper - engine cracked?
There were also rumors that dropping this bike with frame sliders mounted
could potentially crack the engine case. But you haven't dropped your's.
Hmmm. Did you buy this bike from the now defunct Moto Meccanica?

Not the same issue but also a cracking damage...
Not the case motor cracked, but the part between the crank shaft and piston (piston rod?). At the moment (now for 5 weeks) I'm waiting to get a new crank shaft, piston rod, piston and all bearings. The motor was stock and almost new (2600km).

My dealer claims they catch a lot of warranty issues on the 7500mile service so I am bringing mine in somewhat short of 7500miles but before my 2 years is up.
I'd be really bummed if I didn't catch a problem before the 2 years was up.
