Got her!
So, I picked up my 08 leftover Hyper yesterday. You all know what it looks like so I'll skip the pics for the time being... suffice to say it's red!
I'm loving the motor and surprisingly, for my sensitive ears anyway, it sounds great even through earplugs with the stock exhaust.
I suffered through a 40F commute this morning because it's going to be in the 70's this afternoon...
My only complaint is this: holy snatchy throttle batman! The transition from on to off throttle is a real bitch, and I'm forced to either roll through slow corners or fan the clutch while rolling on the gas to smooth things out.
I've ordered a Fatduc in hopes of remedying this a bit... any other suggestions?
Oh, and one other question. In today's freezing morning air, doing about 60mph, oil temp was somewhere around 160F. I noticed when stopped that it'd climb 15 degrees or so, but my idle was a good bit higher that it was yesterday during the day (70F). Probably around 1500rpm. Now, I did make a small throttle cable adjustment yesterday to take some freeplay out, but I'm pretty confident that's not the cause as I verified the throttle returns to the stop, and there is still a bit of freeplay (there was so much before it was making the on/off throttle transition even worse). So the question is, how does the ECU decide to drop idle speed? I'm hoping on the ride home this afternoon it'll be in the normal range again and it was just the cold air.

Get a G2 Ergonomics throttle for a KTM Superduke. Goes right in the Ducati throttle housing and will make a huge difference in ridability in commuting conditions. A 14t countershaft sprocket helps a lot too, as you don't have to drop to first as much in tight corners/traffic, less clutch slipping starting off, and sixth is usable below 70 - 80. Both relatively inexpensive mods that make a big difference.
Where are you located?

Congrats on the new bike! Look at doing the termi if you can, really wakes the bike up. Otherwise just ride it stock and you'll get used to the throttle snatch

Congrats on the bike and welcome. You'll get used to the twitchy throttle.

How can you say the throttle action is snatchy AND your idle seems higher then talk about adjusting the throttle cable and not see a link between the two?

How about because:
a) the 'snatchyness' was there before I touched anything (and was better afterwards... initial tip in is a whole lot cleaner without a quarter inch of slack in the damn throttle).
b) the engine idle was back to normal this afternoon on the ride home in warm weather
Good enough for you? Jeesh.

Thanks for the offer. Alas, the only riding I do is to and from work (I'm out by Front Royal and commute in to Dulles). Two little kiddies at home eat up my off time.
