Tech issue

Howdy all. I got my 08 HM with 5400 miles on the clock about a week ago. The second time I took it out for a spin, I noticed something a bit unusual - whenever I am pulling clutch in and braking to a nearly complete stop while in any gear but first, the motor dies. Now if I give it an easy rev or two it's fine while the clutch is pulled in. Any ideas?

I am guessing you still have the stock exhaust, ECU and intake. Is this correct?

I've had that happen on my BMW R1100S and my Multistrada 620 quite a few times... I've been told it's just a "twin thing". Give a few blips of the throttle when you're coming to a stop to keep the pistons moving until they settle.

NO NO NO!!!!

This is not "Normal" for a twin. It is not normal for any motor vehicle that is running properly. If your engine is dying mid-flight, something is wrong. It is also dangerous. Get it to the dealer and demand that it be repaired. Do it nicely, but insist that it be repaired. This should be covered under warranty and as stated in some of the other posts, there may be a lemon law in your state. Here in LA, if you bring it back to the place of purchase 3 times and they are unable to resolve the problem, they are obligated to refund the entire purchase price of the vehicle.

Don't settle for a poor running bike. You paid premium dollars for an exotic machine. Make them get it straight.

Today I called the dealer that sold the bike to me. Talked to the service manager... He told me he knows the bike - it was in their service department for this particular issue 3 times since new (8/29/07). He said every time they fixed it, it came back with the same issue.
One of the guys from the dealership came and picked up the -tard. I've ridden a total of 200 miles or so and experienced a over 10+ stalls. I've never ever purchased anything almost new (or old for that matter) that had such a terrible manufacturer's defect

Mine does not have the stalling issue, and I am on the second hyper (first was a standard, second an S). Maybe I am too gentle?
