49 Mpg

The past three fill ups at Giant have been giving me fits waiting for the low fuel light. I thought it was broken. Showing 107 miles on the trip, no light, I siphoned a quart out and hit the road for Sedona 15 miles @ 70 per. Five miles in, the light, rode back down, added the quart back, another 12 miles. So, 149 miles @ 3.056 gal to fill. My guess the premium hasn't been cut with the oxygenate (MBTE/ethanol), just straight gas. My standard was 118/122 before light, after the O2 manipulator 110/115. My logic, a trip to Sturgis '96 on my fatboy from Calif. was getting about 140 before reserve (5 gal). On the way back 200 miles before reserve (up wind too). S. Dakota didn't have smog blended gas at that time.

You can test you theory by buying one of those alcohol content tester kits for $5-10. I am going to run some 110LL Avgas in my Hyper one of these day to do a fuel economy comparison. I have no cat and have the cam ECU so no worries.
