HyperMotard Gas Cap?
Hi,
I'm looking for a new gas cap for my Motard.
The only aftermarket cap I've fold is from NCR for 200 Euro.
I would prefer something a little more unique and polished looking.
Anyone have any suggestion?

That unfortunately is your only other option short of a custom 'one-off'. At least as of a few months back when I scoured the net for a Hyper cap.

Keep an eye on eBay and search internationally- there have been a number on there lately. All are well north of $150, though.

HyperPop-up
I've decided to make an all aluminum pop-up gas cap for my HyperMotard. It will be similar in style to the one I made for my TurboMonster.
I ordered an aluminum "Tolle" pop-up gas cap this morning ($135).
I can either make the base plate by hand (one off) or I can have a small batch of the base plates CNC'ed. Once I get the Tolle pop-up in I finize the overall design of the base plates.
If anyone is interested in one for there bike let me know. Being aluminum they could easily be engraved or anodized...

I agree. I'd prefer no lock so the cap could be a lot thinner.
I had twist-off cap on my old 999S that was carved out of billet aluminum and anodized black. It might have been an STM, but I wouldn't swear to it. It did not have a lock, was much slimmer and looked way better than the stocker (which is not saying much when it comes to the 999). I never missed the lock.

Well guys, its because all you blingmasters are spending $150 bucks on a freaking gas cap!!! And when some dipshit outside of you local restaurant rips off your high dollar gas cap you are going to cry like bitches and probably go out and buy a new $200 dollar gas cap with a LOCK this time ... Right?

Almost finished...
I got delayed on the gas cap project, because of the summer exhaust project. But since I'm now waiting on electronic parts, I went ahead and finished my gas cap.
It's about 95% done. Just waiting to do the final fitting and polishing till my exhaust project is done. The tanks off the bike right now...
I used the stock plastic tank cover for the mock-up, but from my measurements the DucatiPerformance carbon fiber tank cover I got has a slightly different shape around the cap. So I may need to make some last minute adjustments.
Once it's polished and setting on the carbon fiber background I think it's going to work out great!
