Should I run it in first?

Hi,

I am about to purchase a Hypermotard and I've requested a Termi slip on exhaust mod with the ECU. One shop said that I can put it on straight away, and another suggested that I run it in for 1000km first.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Much Appreciated.

Thumbs up

Put the exhaust on, as the DP ECU will keep her safe, and have FUN!, just don't "baby" her! Aloha Alex

Exactly what Alex said, I had mine on the day I picked her up and she runs strong.

on a side note- considered a second hand one? you'd get a newish 'S' with pipes for a lot less than a standard new with termi.
just my 2c.Oh, and I'm not trying to sell mine!

A lot of shops will recommend you wait 1000kms before doing any mods, the main reason is it makes the warranty paperwork easier. Most problems will surface before the bike has done 1000kms, so if you problem and the bike is unmodified, the warranty claim processing will be straightfoward. Having said that, if you buy the bike and exhaust from the same shop and get it fitted there, you have no dramas.

Where is Aus are you tiger?
