Duc is Dead

I must have left the HMT on aux. The battery seems completely dead. It has been on the trickle charger for a day and a half, so far still not charged. I'll try to start the bike tomorrow. Anyone ever have this happen? Will the battery ever take a charge? How much should a new battery cost?

I haven't purchased a battery for the Hyper yet, but I did kill it once, (left key on)
but jumped it, and it has been OK ever since. I bought a battery for my Victory a couple of months back from Cycle Rider, I paid $70 for it. Aloha Alex

How old's the battery? They have a date on them. Batteries have a finite life. 4-5 years max, if you're lucky. Most go about 3-4. If it won't take, and hold, a charge after 3 - 4 hours, it's likely toast. But, be sure to check the voltage coming out of the regulator. A bad regulator can kill a battery prematurely.

You should see at least 12.5-13v coming out of the regulator at idle, and 14-15v at 1,500-2000+ rpm. If not, then test downstream at the coil for the same thing to isolate whether it's the reg or the coil.
