Ignition Studs/Bolts: How do you remove them?

DISREGARD.....vice grips worked in unscrewing them. thanks


trying to fit the Dan Kyle Ohlins Damper Kit onto the HYM which requires removing/replacing the stock (shorter) ignition studs with longer ones (supplied). it's almost impossible to get any tool to the underside of the bolt, and in all honesty, i have no idea what the bolt fitment is (hex head? allen key head?) as i can't get a tool into the small space. i can turn the bolt from the topside using a small pair of vice grips at the base of the bolt but i can't think that this is the only way.

is double nutting it the only way to get it done?

i'm stuck. could someone please lend a suggestion or two?
