Battery Tender
Do any of you folks keep your duc on a battery tender? I haven't had any issues yet, but I keep my Ape on a tender and it's kept the battery going for a long time. Just curious if you guys think keeping the duc on a tender is worth it, or if the internal charging system is adequate.

As with every bike - depends on how long it sits. Mine has gone a couple of months once with no problems.

Battery Tender
I currently have the pleasure of owning 5 bikes, so since I can only ride one at a time; I keep them on Battery Tenders. With good results, I might add. I just installed the Calif. Cycleworks big tank to the Hyper, which puts the battery on top of the tank. Since the stock battery is so heavy, I replaced it with a smaller and much lighter Speedcell battery. The directions that came with the Speedcell battery say it loses very little e-juice over time, so I'm not sure if the Battery Tender is appropriate. TBA.

Don't get involved with keeping it on to a battery tender...I think it a lie that they make the battery last longer... Unless you don't ride or start your bike for 4-6 months you won't have a problem, and if you do start your bike after 4 months just put it on the Tender the night before....
Bottom line is you should have one and have your bike wired up for one, just in case... but it does not need to be connected all the time.

I keep all 4 of mine on tenders regardless of the season or how I often I ride 'em.

I am geezer who has been riding for 50 years, so have many contacts in the mc world around the Seattle area. My fav dealer for Ducs is Ducati Seattle and the Boss; Dave Roosevelt, a patient of mine, recommended the Speedcell. I am the first road rider to use this unit. It's spendy: $250.00, but is very lite at less than 2 lbs. Several NW racers are using the battery. Check out Speedcell's web site for more info. So far I'm impressed. Long term, who knows? DucDoc

All bikes on battery tender, but following up on Bill advices who has about 10 bikes, the rack of battery tender chargers is on timer to actually charge only one hour a day, it makes it an even better cycle for the battery...
