WTF is a reflector ticket
Ok, sorry I have to vent. Sunday I installed my Tidy Tail and on the way home from work I got a ticket for not having the correct reflectors on my bike. I was in rush hour, so not even speeding! Are you kidding...must have been a bike hater.

A reflector ticket??? soundss like something that would happen in California not Texas. I think I would have to talk with the judge about that one.
How much does a reflector ticket cost?

Sometimes that can happen when your reflectors "fall off" and you don't notice. I am sure the judge will understand when you show him a picture of your bike with it's reflectors "back on".
Out!

That sucks - a friend of mine got one a couple of months back while riding the canyons. Funny thing is the LEO didn't write him up for the full exhaust just the missing reflectors.
Get these and call it a day:

Their is supposed to be 5 reflectors (3 rear, 2 front) and each is a $167 ticket! He only gave me 2 (said he was being nice), but that's freakin $334 (enough for some new goodie for the HM).
My bike did not come with reflectors on the forks, did the dealer take them off or does of not come with them)?
Yea I am going to photoshop some reflectors on and take a picture of my bike to court (just kidding judge if you are reading this).

Did you say thank you to the officer for being in a good mood and letting you slide with just two tickets? send some roses to his house and make sure the thorns are on

That sucks, one of the first thing I do on a new bike is remove the reflectors. Hypers (and nearly all Ducati's) come with reflectors on the fork tubes and license plate bracket. I took mine off day one. You must have got the "hater."

Wow, was that cop ever a douche bag. Thats the type of guy that gives the police a bad name.
I will have to practice my blank "I didnt know" look as all of my reflectors seem to have fallen off too

Take it to court and ask the judge if the cop is insane or just hates bikes.

Its getting out of control with cops, why they stop you, and what they do. Not neccessarily a bike hater, just a revenue agent for the mayor. With the economy hitting towns hard, they are out in force digging into your pocket. I got a ticket in my truck for one small brake light bulb, HALF of the light over the cab, being out. The main lights were fine. The days of a friendly reminder from a cop at a traffic light or even a stop/warning are over, its all about the $$ now. The only time I feel safe from harassment is in my town because I know a couple of the cops and I'm friends with one, but by the same token I see them get their share form others passing through. Its not all their fault, I'm sure the good guys would rather be doing something more meaningful, but its now their job. Look whats happening in NYC with the exhaust noise law now. Ridiculous.
